        History

Gabriel Sagard-Theodat was a 17-century French missionary and author. After expressing a desire to work with native American peoples in New France, he travelled to Canada in 1623. He spent a little more than a year in Canada before being recalled to France. His History of Canada is derived largely from that period he spent in Canada.
