History
Bobby Siu was born in 1948. He is a sociologist and diversity consultant with experience in human rights, equity, race relations, and immigration. Siu completed undergraduate studies at Trent University in Peterborough, then a Master's degree at the University of Western Ontario and a PhD in sociology from Carleton University in Ottawa. He is a McLaughlin Fellow of York University, and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Public Policy, Administration, and Law.
Siu has conducted extensive research on diversity and equity for institutions such as the Government of Ontario and the Ontario Human Rights Commission. Over several decades, he has worked as a consultant, contributing to the development of policies and public management practices. Siu has held teaching appointments across several Canadian universities, including York University and Toronto Metropolitan University. His research and publications have appeared in numerous professional and academic journals.
His contributions to the field have been recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration, awarding him the Newcomers Settlement Volunteer Award in 2006, and a finalist for the National Business Book Award.
