Series contains documentation and correspondence from A.J. Wilson’s activities during political negotiations in Sri Lanka in the 1980s. From 1978-1984 he acted as constitutional advisor to the President of Sri Lanka (then J.R. Jaywardene), from 1978-1983 as intermediary between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Tamil United Liberation Front, in 1979-1980 he assisted in framing legislation for District Development Councils in Sri Lanka, and in 1979 he was Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Commission for the Decentralization of the Administration and Devolution of Powers to Subordinate Law-making bodies, Sri Lanka.
