Sub-series primarily consists of records documenting Bolton’s committee and scientific advisory work outside the University of Toronto. Included are records related to Bolton’s involvement with the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Scientific Advisory Committee (1983 - 1985); Canadian Astronomical Society; International Astronomical Union (IAU) as a member of various divisions and commissions including Commission 30: Radial Velocities (1976 – 1988) and Commission 42: Close Binary Stars (1979 – 20??); the National Research Council of Canada’s Associate Committee for Astronomy (ACA) (1981 – 1983), Subcommittee on Optical Astronomy (1983 – 1985), and Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) for the Canadian Astronomical Data Centre (CADC)(1988 – 1990); PHOTON as the Honorary Director (1995 – 1998);and the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) as Second Vice-President for Toronto Centre (1981 – 1984) and a member of the National Light Pollution Committee (1995 – 1997). There are also files related to conferences, symposiums, and workshops at which Bolton has presented. Records include correspondence, reports, transparencies for presentations, poster materials, speaking notes, member and attendee lists, newsletters, agendas and conference schedules, bibliographies, and a technical drawing for a spectrograph. There are also a couple photos of attendees of the IAU’s Algol Colloquia and the NATO Advanced Workshop on Angular Momentum and Mass Loss for Hot Stars.
