File consists of three early typescripts of "A Cry for Mercy", entitled, "Prayers: Abbey of the Genesee, February 18th - August 15th, 1979". Folder (1) contains draft (1), which is a soft-bound unedited typescript; Folder (2) contains draft (2), which is a hard-bound typescript edited in blue pencil crayon, likely by Nouwen's editor; Folder (3) contains draft (3), which is a hard-bound typescript, also edited, but in pencil and in several different hands.
