Scope and content
File consists of a hard bound copy of Nouwen’s, "Een Onderzoek Betreffende de Pastorale Vorming van Legeraalmoezeniers: met bijzondere aandacht voor aalmoeseniers van Militaire Hospitalen" ("A Research Regarding the Pastoral Formation of Army Chaplains with special attention for army chaplains in military hospitals"). Manuscript includes some annotations and handwritten notes by Nouwen and a newspaper clipping of an article on Prof. Dr. Han M.M. Fortmann from May 1964. Tucked into the back pages of the manuscript is a note dated August 28., 1965 from AJvdB which comments on Nouwen's writing [ed. note: it is believed that AJvdB is commenting on "Evaluation of Six Months Clinical Pastoral Training" (see file #313)]. The very back page contains a note from Nouwen saying he regrets he did not find them at home, here is his manuscript ("scriptie"), and he would like it returned to him when he is done [recipient unknown - perhaps it is AJvdB]. Based on this note, it is believed this paper was submitted by Nouwen as his "doctoraal scriptie" (major paper for obtaining the doctorandus degree).
