This accession of George Elliott Clarke’s papers consists of correspondence written between 1999 to 2021 (primarily 2018-2021); drafts of poems, articles, essays, and other writing; materials related to Clarke’s published and upcoming works, most notably Canticles II (MMXX), Where Beauty Survived: An Africadian Memoir, and J’Accuse…! (Poem versus Silence); drafts of poems, essays, and novels by other writers and published articles that related to Clarke and/or his work; materials related to festivals, poetry contests, and other events that Clarke participated in; and various personal and miscellaneous files. The accession also includes correspondence and articles pertaining to Clarke’s cancelled lecture at the University of Regina in 2020.
