In the latter part of his career, Professor Griffin pursued an interest in the history of research into liquid helium and superfluidity, particularly that of scientists at or connected to the University of Toronto. Individuals researched and written about by Professor Griffin include Jack Allen, Donald Austin Misener, Laszlo Tisza, John Cunningham McLennan and Oliver Penrose.
