Scope and content
File consists of typed lecture summary notes which Nouwen most likely distributed to his students as handouts throughout the class. There appears to be a master copy on heavier paper for each handout which was used to make photocopies. There are also multiple copies of handouts as well, including Nouwen and Sue Mosteller's "Sacred History" (biography), course outlines, class schedules, and assignment guidelines. Second file folder contains a bound and signed copy of the course text from Nouwen addressed to Sue Mosteller.

Note
Communion, Community, Ministry: Introduction to the Spiritual Life (course code RGP 2237F) was Nouwen's final academic course, offered by Regis College of the University of Toronto during the fall semester of 1994 on Mondays, 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm. The course studied the concepts of communion, community, and ministry as disciplines to create space for God. This course was associated with the 25th anniversary of L'Arche and members of the L’Arche Daybreak community participated in teaching the course with Nouwen. Students were graded on six bi-weekly reflection papers, their participation in the small group discussions, and a final paper. Nouwen was assisted by Sr. Sue Mosteller, Ben Vaanholt, and Gordie Henry. Nouwen's teaching assistant was Fr. Dennis Grecco, who scheduled student interviews and read student assignments.
