Sub-series consists of fifteen files which deal with Nouwen's personal and professional dealings with Harper San Francisco, from (at various times) New York, Hagerstown, London, San Francisco, Cambridge, Philadelphia, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, St. Louis, Sydney. Much of the correspondence is between Nouwen/his assistants and John B. Shopp, Editor. Specific Nouwen publications mentioned in the files include The Wounded Healer, Thomas Merton, Intimacy, Making All Things New, Gracias (also referred to as South American Diary), A Letter of Consolation (also referred to as Dear Father), The Way of the Heart, Letters to Marc about Jesus, In the Name of Jesus, Beyond the Mirror, The Life of the Beloved, Our Greatest Gift (also known as Dying Well/Caring Well and In the Hour of Our Death), and The Living Reminder.
