Administrative history

The Health Science Information Consortium of Toronto was founded in 1990 out of a desire to strengthen the relationship between the University of Toronto Libraries and the libraries of health care institutions affiliated with the University's Faculty of Medicine.

Over the last two decades the Consortium's membership has grown to include libraries and information services in 40 teaching and community hospitals, public health units and other health care institutions in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. The Consortium continues to benefit from ongoing support from the University of Toronto. - from http://hsict.library.utoronto.ca/about-us
