Born in Oneida, New York on May 3, 1927, Helen Mary Helt was a graduate of Verona High School and later attended Brockport State College. She taught with the Madison County Headstart Program, and previously worked at the Camden Central Schools, Oneida City Schools and Stockbridge Valley Central School. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for over 60 years. She passed away on April 3, 2018.
