Scope and content

File contains the manuscript score for parts I and V of Laudis creationis, as well as annotated copies of the parts and complete piano and full scores. One of the percussion parts includes a programme from a performance of this work at a Thursday Noon Series concert at Walter Hall called "Music and poetry" (March 13, 1997), where it was performed by Prof. Ray Skryme, Prof. Eric Domville, Teri Dunn (soprano), John Hawkins (piano), Sarah Jeffrey (oboe), Julia Seager (harp), and David Luginbühl (vibraphone and glockenspiel). Laudis creationis was commissioned by Chamber Concerts Canada through a grant from the Laidlaw Foundation. It contains five moments: Domine, dominus noster (text from Psalm 8); Bring me the sunset in a cup (text by Emily Dickinson); Man (text by George Hebert); I thank you God for most this amazing (text by e.e. cummings); and Canticle of the Sun (text by St. Francis of Assisi).
