Scope and content
Zuckerkandl apologizes for the delayed reply [mentions not writing for an entire month]. He describes working on a project for Merkur on the 150th birthday of Wagner and Verdi [“Das Theater des singenden Menschen. Zur 150 Wiederkehr der Geburtstage von Richard Wagner und Giuseppe Verdi”], corrections for the book to be published in September [probably Die Wirklichkeit der Musik], and preparing for the [1963] conference. Work is finally letting up and Zuckerkandl is looking forward to seeing everyone at Eranos. He mentions enjoying his time with the Hutchinsons [Li Osborne (later, Louise Hutchinson) and William Dodge Hutchinson] and mentions their generosity. He and Ritsema will discuss business when they see each other.
