      History

      Monsignor Frederick R. McManus was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on February 8, 1923. He taught canon law to church lawyers as professor and later dean of the School of Canon Law at the Catholic University of America (CUA) from 1958-1993. He also served as vice provost and dean of graduate studies at CUA from 1974-1983, and academic vice president from 1983-1985. He died on November 27, 2005 in Boston.
