Series consists of music written and arranged for Nimmons 'N' Nine Plus Six. This expanded version of Nimmons 'N' Nine was formed in 1965, reorganized in 1974, and disbanded in the early 1980s. The ensemble consisted of clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, piano, guitar, bass, and drums. Most of the music was written by Phil Nimmons with a few contributions from other members of the ensemble.

Over the years, members of the ensemble included: Alvin Paul, Jerry Toth, Keith Jollimore, alto saxophone; Art Ellefson, Rick Wilkins, tenor saxophone; Jack Taylor, Tony Toth, baritone saxophone; Arnie Chycoski, Bobby Day, Erich Traugott, Fred Stone, Guido Basso, Bram Smith, Mike Malone, Herbie Spanier, Darryl Eaton, trumpet and flugelhorn; Rob McConnell, Ron Hughes, Teddy Roderman, Butch Watanabe, Dave McMurdo, John Capon, Rick Stepton, Terry Lukiwski, trombones; Tom Szczesniak, piano; Ed Bickert, Andy Krehm, guitar; Murray Lauder, Dave Field, bass; Ron Rully, Stan Perry, drums.
