Scope and content

This series consists of a wide variety of material relating to Professor Sugunasiri’s personal and family activities. Prominent amongst this are copies of numerous variants of his curriculum vitae, other personal information, press clippings, certificates, diaries, files on family activities, appointment books, a wall calendar, and files on his and family travels. The diaries are seldom full diaries; most, like the “journal entries (sometimes dubbed ‘day books’)”, consist of a combination of activities and ideas scattered sporadically across a particular year. The series ends with six scrapbooks compiled by his father, S. H. Sauris Silva, with press clippings, almost all in Sinhala, from Sri Lankan newspapers, covering the years 1926-1978, a file on his death, and on attempt to publish one of his manuscripts.
