The first known performance by J. Churchill Arlidge of "On the Death of Nelson" by John Braham took place as part of a concert for the King's birthday at Massey Music Hall in Toronto (November 9, 1903). The concert was by the St. George's, Irish Protestant Benevolent, and St. Andrew's Societies, and included performances by Arlidge of "The Keel Row," "Fantasia on National Airs," and "On the Death of Nelson."
