Scope and content

File contains the manuscript piano and full scores for Songs of Sion, as well as two annotated copies of the full score, one belonging to Derek Holman, and another with some corrections by "A/C", and an annotated copy of the CMC piano score. Songs of Sion was commissioned by the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir for performance at the first concert of its 101st season, conducted by Elmer Iseler at Roy Thomson Hall (October 1, 1995). It contains three Psalm-settings: "By the Waters of Babylon"; "When the Lord turned again"; and, "Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised." The texts are from the Book of Common Prayer. The manuscript piano score is missing pages 1 and 2.
