Administrative history

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) was established in Toronto in 1993. In addition to consular services, its mandate is “to promote exchange and cooperation between Taiwan and Canada within its jurisdiction over Ontario, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.” A related TECO Culture Centre was established in Toronto in 1989, moving to a Scarborough facility in 1994.

Collection consists of film prints and video materials held by the Toronto TECO office.

Fonds includes the following Series:
Series 01: 16mm Movie Catalogue
Series 02: 16mm Documentary Catalogue
Series 03: Video

System of arrangement

Material is arranged into three series. The “M” and “D” series were organized with unique identifiers and separate catalogues. The M series consists of feature films, while the D series consists of non-fiction films. The Video series is largely non-fiction films. Films are predominantly from Taiwan, but some were produced in Hong Kong and other countries.
