Scope and content

File consists of sketches, scripts, and pencil manuscript scores for a piece for narrator and woodwind quintet. The file includes materials for two movements:

  1. The Coming of Nanabozho
  2. Nanabozho and the Raccoon
  3. Nanabozho and the Great Sturgeon.

The final versions of these scores were completed in two parts: [1] with "The coming of Nanabozho" and "Nanabozho and the raccoon," commissioned by the York Winds through Wintario (composed 1976); and [2] with "Nanabozho and the partride" and "Nanabozho and the great sturgeon," commissioned by the Langlet Air Force Quintet (composed 1992). Texts by Dorothy Reid, based on various Indigenous legends.
