Scope and content

File contains a typeset version of The Centred Passion and three CMC copies of the manuscript with annotations, including annotations by Stephen Ralls. Ralls' copy of the score also includes a programme from a performance of this piece at a Thursdays at Noon concert at Walter Hall, Faculty of Music ("Music and Poetry") by Matthew Leigh (baritone), Doreen Uren Simmons (piano), and Eric Domville (commentator) on March 24, 2005. The Centred Passion uses six poems from Tennyson's In Memoriam A.H.H.: "Old yew which graspeth at the stones"; "Tonight the winds begin to rise"; "The path by which we twain did go"; "The time draws near the birth of Christ"; "Now fades the last long streak of snow"; and, "Thy voice is on the rolling air." This piece was commissioned by Mark Pedrotti through a grant from the Ontario Arts Council.
