History
The Brazilian Music Ensemble, formerly known as the Latin-American Percussion Ensemble, is one of the Global Music Ensembles at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music. It was first listed as a stand-alone ensemble in the 2013-2014 academic calendar, but had previous iterations under the umbrella "Folk Music Ensembles" and "World Music Ensembles" at the Faculty. Mark Duggan started directing the ensemble in 2009-2010, and it is currently directed by Alan Hetherington (2018-present).
