Transcription of card: What is it stirs in the brast of each one of us, What is it thrills every brave mother's son of us, What but the will to be free? Free of the fetters a monarch has made, Free to sail forth where we will unafraid, Free of the savage assassins of trade Striking from under the sea. Forward! That foeman may feel the ful fear of us, Forward! Our purpose is perfectly clear to us, Forward! We're fighting for all that is dear to us - Fighting that all shall be free. What though to some it may seem contradictory, We are not fighting for gain or for victory, Prizes or profits of state; We have no lust for the foreigner''s land, Neutral we stood, and still neutral would stand, Were it not for the touch of tyrannical hand Making us agents of Fate. Forward that tyrants may know we'll have none of them, Forward nor stop till we've finally done with them, Freed all their subjects, convincing each one of them We have no malice nor hate. Freedom has sounded her glorious call to us, Freedom whose voice is the sweetest of all to us, Stirs every heart with her plea; Bids the New World to arise in the West, Bids it to battle for all that is best, Spreading the freedom with which it is blessed
Wid through the lands o'er the sea. Forward that tyrants may tremble at sight of us, Forward that despots may dread the just might of us, Forward that subjects may share in the right of us The right of proud citizens free
