Biographical history
Josepha Winnagene Anne Hatch (nee Seaton) was a music educator and church music director and a graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Music, where she studied School Music. She was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian College of Organists (RCCO) and the Ontario Guild of English Handbell Ringers, and was a published composer of choral and handbell music, including "The Song the Virgin Sang" (1995).

File consists of papers collected by Winnagene Hatch (nee Seaton) during her time at the Faculty of Music, where she studied school music (or music education). File includes examination papers for classes at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music (1950-1953); the Ontario Department of Education's matriculation precis for music (1953-1954); a list of students and staff at the Faculty of Music [1952]; surveys of instruments for classes taught by Robert A. Rosevear (1949, 1950); a program for the Third Annual Instrumental Music Clinic, sponsored by the Faculty of Music (November 25, 1950); and library instructions for the filing of instrumental music at the Faculty. The file also includes miscellaneous programs from performances that Seaton attended during this time, her copies of the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto Monthly Bulletin (December 1952, January 1953); and sample history and examination papers from the Royal Conservatory of Music (1954-1969), which she used with her students following graduation.
