Scope and content
File consists of 16 letters (one handwritten), one handwritten greeting card, and a book inscription to Simone Landrien. The letters were sent almost every year between 1985 and 1996. They thank Landrien for her friendship and discuss various plans to meet, announce his departure from Harvard Divinity School and move to L'Arche Daybreak (in a long form letter addressed mainly to his students at Boston College), and otherwise note Nouwen's travels and recent publications. A 1988 letter contains photocopies of Nouwen's passport and United States immigration card, sent to Landrien to aid in the process of obtaining a 'French Bulletin #3' so that Nouwen could apply for Landed Immigrant status in Canada. File also includes a letter addressed to Maria Winoska from Nouwen that requires copyright permission, and part of an article dated November 14, 1996, expressing several people's reminisces of their first meetings with Nouwen.
