Subseries consists of general correspondence and correspondence regarding teachers of the Opera School, later the Opera Department, and now the Opera Division. Correspondence relates to the operations of the Opera School, including budgets, hiring of teachers, particular productions, and the Opera School film project with the National Film Board. Subseries includes both incoming and outgoing correspondence.

Correspondence is arranged in chronological order with a separate file for correspondence relating to teachers at the Opera School (1948-1963), in accordance with the filing system used by the Opera School administration. Note that correspondence can also be found in series C "Production records"; series E "Student records"; and in series A, subseries 2 thru 4 "Financial records," "General administrative records," and "Community partnerships and scholarships."
