Series primarily consists of textual records documenting Tom Bolton’s education and career. The series is organized into two sections. The first section consists of files related to Bolton’s personal and professional life. The section begins with Bolton’s CVs followed by six files arranged chronologically. Records include applications to positions and fellowships, staff appointment forms and employment letters, research awards, and related correspondence. Additionally, some files contain records related to Bolton’s tenure review, research leave, disability leave, and personal research into treatments for mental health conditions. There is also one file consisting of personal photographs.
The second section includes files which document Bolton’s post-secondary education, including his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois (1962 – 1966) and graduate studies at the University of Michigan (1966 - 1968). The files are arranged alphabetically and consist of syllabi, course notes, student work, and Bolton’s master’s examination.
