File consists of correspondences between Robert Madden and O'Neill-Karch. Specifically, items in file include:

  • Letter from MOK (June 16, 1992), discussing Homecoming and asking that a notice be place in the forthcoming Alumni News requesting anecdotes about SMC French professors for a forthcoming history of the department.
  • Letter from RM (September 1, 1992), re Homecoming, the publication of the above notice, and the annual "begging letter".
  • Receipt for blinds (July 30, 1992). See following.
  • Manuscript letter (photocopy) from MOK (September 4, 1992). The notice has already produced one response, from Jim O'Brien (see in the STUDENTS folder). Re: Annual Fund. Designated gift for the purpose of buying blinds for Teefy 101.
  • Memo from RM (September 11, 1992). OK re: blinds as Annual Fund gift.
  • "Begging Letter" from RM who mentions that he is having problems with his eyes.
  • Letter from RM (October 6, 1997) thanking MOK for her remarks at Homecoming.
  • Letter from RM (October 1, 1998), about the opening of the newly named Robert Madden Hall. MOK, as Acting Principal, had played a key role in making this happen.
  • Manuscript card from RM (April 22, 2002), congratulating MOK on her appointment as Principal of Woodsworth. Had planned to attend installation, but was felled by a bug.
  • Manuscript card from RM (December 10, 2006), surprised that MOK's term at WDW will soon come to an end. This is followed by a rather alarming listing of Dick Donovan's health issues.
  • Letter from RM (July 17, 2007). Praises MOK's contributions to the U of T and SMC. Apologizes for missing the farewell "bash" at Woodsworth, but he was down with an eye infection.
  • Email from RM (August 17, 2007). Was in Rochester for a wedding and missed Dick Donovan's death, wake, and funeral. MOK will make a donation in his honour to the Basilian Retirement Fund. Mentions once again MOK's step down celebration, and he particularly appreciated the musical references.
  • Email from RM (April 6, 2008). Responds favourably to the invitation to attend a reception to celebrate the end of Rick Alway's term as President. Thanks MOK for her edition of the correspondence of Germaine Guevremont and William Arthur Deacon.
  • Email from RM (May 6,1,2008) about Pierre Karch's hospitalisation. He is happy that PK is going home: "Tell him that if he does not rest as he should, I will come and give him 'Extreme Unction'."
  • Letter from RM (August 1, 1008) about his "significant" birthday feted at the Reunion Reception and he thanks MOK for her contribution to the scholarship established in his name.
  • Email from MOK (April 12, 2009), announcing that MOK and PK are leaving for Paris and will therefore miss the Installation.
  • Email from RM (December 2009), Christmas greetings.
  • Email from MOK (December 22, 2009), announcing that MOK and PK will be spending January in Florida and that they have both made new wills, naming St. Michael's as one of the beneficiaries.
  • Email from RM (December 23, 2009). Grateful for the bequests, "But there's no rush."
  • Email from MOK (January 2011), about Miami condo and the Robert Henry (5T2) - Beverley Dempsey family.
  • Email from RM (January 23, 2011), detailing his relationship with Henry-Dempsey clan. He then mentions his move to the infirmary, due to increased difficulty in walking and balance.
  • Email from MOK (June 4, 2011), forwarding correspondence from Shay Pomeroy, Robert Fink's stepson.
  • Email from RM (June 4, 2011), responding to MOK's correspondence with SP.
  • Email from RM (December 2011), Christmas greetings.
  • Email from MOK (December 2011), Holiday greetings and news. PK working on a catalogue of French ceramics and he has just published a collection of short stories. MOK is working on a critical edition of the works of Eugene Labiche. MOK injured her foot doing a yoga move.
