Derek Healey studied with Herbert Howells (composition); Harold Darke (organ); John Francis (flute); Harry Stubbs (piano); and Frederick Green (voice production). Healey also organized the Student Composers' Concerts and performed with St. Michael's Singers, conducted by Harold Darke.
