History
Caroline S. Wales was born in Troy, New York and entered the Sisters of Mercy in Albany in 1962, where she remained a member until 1990. She obtained an associate in arts degree from Maria College, Albany and was director of Public Relations at Maria College from 1968-1972. In 1972, Caroline began the work of campus ministry for the Albany Diocese. In 1978, she earned her master of divinity degree form Yale University. In 1982, Caroline became the first woman chaplain at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute under the employment of the Rensselaer Newman Foundation. She died in Albany, New York on September 9, 2018.
