Scope and content
File contains correspondence from the Canadian Aldeburgh Foundation to the Aldeburgh Connection. The Canadian Aldeburgh Foundation, a separate entity from the Aldeburgh Connection, was established in 1975 (letters patent obtained on September 4, 1975) under the patronage of Sir Peter Pears by Françoise and Marshall Sutton to provide travel bursaries to Canadian students to attend the Britten-Pears Young Artists' Programme in Aldeburgh, England. It was renamed the Art Song Foundation of Canada (ASFC) in 2015. The Canadian Aldeburgh Foundation contributed funds to support Aldeburgh Connection publicity and various concerts at the beginning of the Aldeburgh Connection's existence. The file also contains correspondence regarding charitable foundation sponsorship.
