File consists of an interview with Robert Ellsberg interviewed by Michael Christensen (location unknown). Ellsberg lives in Ossinging, NY and is an editor with Orbis Books. Ellsberg met Nouwen through his sister, Mary Ellsberg, and subsequently became his editor at Orbis Books. Ellsberg recounts experiences of Nouwen at Harvard University (Cambridge, MA), working with his wife, Peggy Ellsberg, and their relationship through Orbis Books. Themes present in Ellsberg's interview include the Catholic Worker Community (New York, NY), activism, Dorothy Day, introduction to the Catholic faith, Nouwen's personality, Nouwen as passive aggressive, Nouwen's death, Sue Mosteller and the Nouwen Literary Trust and Nouwen's sexuality. The interview is transcribed and available electronically and in hard copy. Two versions of the transcription are in the file accompanied by a printed email from Ellsberg to Joe Vorstermans explaining the two versions.
