Item is a recording of three excerpts from Music for Dancing, performed by John Beckwith and Ray Dudley: no. 1, Prelude ; no. 2, First Pantomime ; no. 7, Round dance.
The 78 rpm record is stored in a reused record binder that also includes two other records:
- A commercial release of "Ave Maria" by Franz Schubert and "Air for G String" by Johann Sebastian Bach, arranged by August Wilhemj, as recorded by Mischa Elman, violin with Josef Bonime, piano (Victor, 7103)
- Private recording of Fantasia in C minor, K. 475 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, likely recored by John Beckwith, piano.
Both private recordings (Mozart and Beckwith) were pressed by Acme Recording Service, Toronto, Ontario.

John Beckwith and Raymond Dudley performed Beckwith's piano duet Music for Dancing multiple times in the late 1940s. Excerpts of a performance were included as part of a CBC radio broadcase on "CBC Wednesday Night" (February 15, 1950).
