Scope and content

Subseries consists of performances of violin and cello music by Ludwig van Beethoven by Elyakim (Peter) Taussig, piano, with Otto Armin, violin and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, violoncello. The performances are predominantly from a series of weekly concerts presented by the Hart House Music Committee and CBC Radio called "Beethoven at Hart", which presented Beethoven's complete works for violin and cello during February and March, 1978. Performances from the concert series were broadcast on CBC Arts National on Mondays from September 4, 1978 to November 6, 1978. Tapes are copies of the CBC broadcasts, and include introductory remarks.

Subseries also includes recordings from two concerts at Wilfrid Laurier University by Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, violoncello and Elyakim Taussig, piano, during which they performed Beethoven's sonatas for violoncello and piano (November 17, 1977 and December 1, 1977).
