Scope and content

Zuckerkandl is working on his lecture [for the 1965 conference], now thinking about unmolding [Entformung] in relation to avantgarde and language. He is reworking his title, attempting to connect thought to form and function. He asks Ritsema to remind him what the precise outline of the conference’s theme is. Zuckerkandl announces that he may not be able to arrive in Ascona until after February and that he will be arriving with a woman that he says belongs there with them [Gertrude Bamberger]. He asks Ritsema to trust that he is doing the right thing. He mentions only few people are aware.
