Scope and content

Zuckerkandl is glad Catherine Gris’s [Ritsema's wife] operation was a success, and writes he is thankful for his friendship with Ritsema. He has asked Li Hutchinson [Li Osborne (later, Louise Hutchinson)] to explain what he cannot properly communicate in writing. Zuckerkandl says his new wife [Gertrude Bamberger] has been an Eranos attendee since 1960 and feels like she is part of the Eranos circle. Zuckerkandl wants to write to the people who were closest to Marianne Zuckerkandl [who died July 15, 1964] in order to communicate it himself before everyone finds out. Zuckerkandl finally has a title, “Form als Erkenntnis der Lebendigen” and is working in a new direction, hoping to have some material to send soon. He promises an update on the Julliard Quartet, whom he has not been able to reach.
