File consists of George Brough's five-year diary, spanning the years 1966 to 1970. During this time, Brough was an accompanist and opera coach for the Banff School of Fine Arts, Canadian Opera Company, and occasional productions by the Royal Conservatory Opera School and the Montreal Opera Guild.

Opera productions included: Carmen by Georges Bizet; Marriage of Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; The Boor by Dominick Argento; Hamlet by Humphrey Searle; Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini; Acis and Galatea by George Frideric Handel; La Serva Padrona by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi; Il segreto di Susanna by Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari; Rape of Lucretia by Benjamin Britten; The Old Maid and the Thief by Gian Carlo Menotti; Louis Riel by Harry Somers; Down in the Valley by Kurt Weill; and The Little Sweep by Benjamin Britten

Brough collaborated for performances and recordings with Paul Brodie, Lloyd Bradshaw, Barbara Allen, Elaine Mossop, Festival Singers, Joan Sutherland, Gisela Depkat, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, David Zafer, Mary Lou Fallis, Brian Law, Derek Holman, Ted Gentry, Peter Diamantes, Don Gilles, Mendelssohn Choir, Marcel Ray, Betty Jean Hagen, John Fetherston, Suzanne Shulman, Jon Vickers, Fred Rizner, Eleanor James, Gerard Kantarjian, John Sidgwick, Maurice Brown, Elizabeth Benson Guy, Patricia Harton, Ted Gentry, Bernard Turgeon, Isabel Vila, Adele Armin, Jean-Guy Brault, Karel Ančerl, Orpheus Choir, Denis Brott, John Rapson, and Victor Martin.

Brough also played organ for various services at churches in Toronto, including St. Simon's, Bloor Street United, and Trinity United.
